Recognise that if someone lets you into their networks that it is a gift. You need to receive that gift, respect it and run with it.

I encourage and support people to move outside their comfort zone and take risks.
Mentoring program
Being part of the QWIPS program was good for me because it gave me the opportunity to increase my networks across a range of government agencies.
Enabling
It is really important as a leader to skill people up, advocate for them and provide support.
Being Pragmatic
I give people I am leading as much autonomy and scope as possible. I believe that people rise to the occasion when given the opportunity.
Impact on leadership
I took on the mentoring role because I was bored and it has enabled me to stay motivated in my current job.
